Emissions
Fire emissions models and comparisons.
Models to compare
FIRST ORDER FIRE EFFECTS MODEL (FOFEM)
The BURNUP emissions module of FOFEM is based on the emissions calculations from the BURNUP model, which estimate the flaming and smoldering emissions of PM10, PM2.5, CO, CO2, CH4, and NOx due to fuel consumption.
- used as implemented in the BlueSky Framework
Emissions Production Model (EPM)
The EPM emissions module is based on the Emissions Production Model (EPM). The consumption and emission calculations from the original EPM model have been split into separate programs to conform to BlueSky Framework best practices. The EPM emissions module invokes only the emissions calculations from EPM.
- used as implemented in the BlueSky Framework
Fire Emissions Production Simulator (FEPS)
The FEPS emissions module is based on the Fire Emission Production Simulator (FEPS). FEPS predicts speciated emissions as a function of empirical emission factors, the total consumption rate, and the combustion efficiency.
- used as implemented in the BlueSky Framework
